Pity it doesn't run, that would be awesome to cruise around on LOL.

Analyzing Stainless Steel and High Temperature Alloys Using LIBS
Analyzing Stainless Steel and High Temperature Alloys Using LIBS
Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy, which is used in the range of
handheld LIBZ analyzers from SciAps, is a safe and high performance
alternative to X-ray analysis, which offers hugely reduced regulatory
requirements. LIBS is becoming well known as a high-performance analysis
technique for Ti, Cu and Al alloys, and red metals. This makes it
highly attractive for users in the scrap metal recycling industry.

Industrial art
Interesting article from the ABC, more Aussie local talent :-)
An art director by day but, by night, Goolwa's James Stewart transforms common industrial object into magical creations.
For almost 40 years Mr Stewart has been involved in the visual arts and advertising industries.
His passion for detail with flare has given him a uniquely abstract view on recreating some of the coasts infamous sea animals.
His work includes such things as recreating a hammerhead shark using real hammers to shape the head, to transforming a collection of tools, vehicle parts and bolts into a gliding stingray.

Scraps to sculpture: Third annual weld-off to be held at Helena High
Scraps to sculpture: Third annual weld-off to be held at Helena High
Welding instructors Cindy Galbavy and Jim Weber developed the
competition several years ago based on the television show “Junkyard
Wars.” Students pick choice pieces from a trailer full of scrap metal
donated by Pacific Steel & Recycling, then go to work welding any
type of futuristic sculpture before each is judged by local welders and
artists.
The sculptures must show signs of the four most common
welds: gas metal arc welding, tungsten inert gas welding, arc welding
and oxy acetylene welding.
What a great idea

Artistic take on Molong's scrap
Interesting article in the The Land newsletter.
There is more scrap than I'll ever be able to pick up in my life time
FOR motorists heading through Molong along the Mitchell Highway, Caldwell Molong may only look like a scrap metal business.
But looking closer, gems of fine art sculptures are hidden.
A dinosaur proudly stands above the scrap while sunflowers poke their bright yellow heads into the sky.
Panel beater Mark Oates and mechanic Ben Caldwell are an unlikely artistic duo but they are the masterminds behind the beautiful recycled sculptures.
