More than 7,000 guns are recycled at Gerdau Steel Mill in Rancho Cucamonga: A record 7,044 guns were reborn as steel rebar when the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department partnered with the Gerdau Steel Mill to recycle the confiscated firearms during the 23rd Annual Gun Melt, hosted by the Rancho Cucamonga mill on July 21.

The device can efficiently remove 1 tonne of large or small
quantities of dangerous scrap metal from machining areas and shop
floors, can connect to the cars as tows and quickly clear metal debris from
streets, construction sites, runways, or steel mills, and operates over
wet or dry, smooth or unpaved surfaces.
